On September 28th, New York City-based band 79.5 will release their debut album Predictions. It's a debut we're ecstatic for, especially since they're coming off the release of the infectious "Boy Don't Be Afraid" single back in June.
HEAR:Mixtape Monday: Jett I Mastyr, Lute, Tiffany Calver, Phase One + More
Today we're premiering the six member band's latest single "Facing East," and we couldn't be more excited. While "Boy Don't Be Afraid" had a more psychedelic feel to it, "Facing East" has this fantastic groovy, jazzy vibe.
Predictions should be full of bops. In a press release, the band described their upcoming album as:
...A timeless journey through a New York City dreamscape pulling in the listener to the subtleties of three part vocal harmonies over chords on the Rhodes to the peaks of four on the floor disco drums. Equal parts psychedelic, and folk, gorgeous and gritty. This mix of influences and vibes is maybe best embodied by the stand out tune Facing East which sounds like ESG meets Fleetwood Mac with Sade Saxophone for good measure.
