Exclusive: Roy Ayers, Meshell Ndegeocello, & Robert Glasper to Headline The 2021 BRIC JazzFest

The 2021 BRIC JazzFest will return with an all-virtual event, featuring some of the most talented jazz musicians working.

After a long wait, festival season is back.

Brooklyn-based arts and media institution BRIC is returning with its annual jazz festival. And we are proud to exclusively reveal the lineup for the three-day event. The 2021 BRIC JazzFest will be headlined by legendary artists Roy Ayers, Meshell Ndegeocello, and Robert Glasper.

Last year, BRIC Jazzfest canceled its in-person festival due to the spread of COVID-19. So, to assure everyone's safety, the 2021 BRIC JazzFest — which will take place from Thursday, April 8 through Saturday, April 10 — will be all virtual, with a lineup of acts co-curated by Ndegeocello herself.

Other artists and performers you will get to see those nights include Phony Ppl, trumpeterKeyon Harrold, Nikara presents Black Wall Street, Justin Hicks, Mae.Sun, and more.

"This past year has been a difficult time for many in our community, and music remains an inexhaustible source of joy and resilience," Kristina Newman-Scott, President of BRIC, said. "We feel incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to present JazzFest virtually this year and deliver a piece of artistry and inspiration into many homes, especially those of frontline and essential workers whose sacrifice we will forever be indebted to."

The 2021 BRIC JazzFest will feature tiered ticket options based on the number of people viewing the festival in a household and a special discount for essential workers.

A full three-day pass solo ticket will be $50. A single-day ticket — known as a "Solo" — is $20. Two single-day tickets, a "Duet," is $40 while tickets for three household members (the "ensemble") are $60. And if you are an essential worker, tickets are $5.

Head to BRICartsmedia.org/jazzfest for more information about the festival. We hope to see you (virtually) there next month.
