This week's Mixtape Mondays is all about the old school. Gilles Peterson is back for the second week in a row with part two of his tribute to the late Donald Byrd. 45 King lays down a mix of smooth disco & boogie gems. KM/FM (King Most, Freddy Azures and Livin Proof) pay homage to the work of Stevie Wonder.
Gilles Peterson - "Donald Byrd Tribute Mix Part 2 - The Electric Years"
Last week we featured the first part of Gilles Peterson's tribute to the late Donald Byrd. This week, he returns with part two, focusing on his "Electric" years. Drawing from Byrd's classic work with the Mizell Brothers team, as well his later work with Isaac Hayes sitting in the producer chair, Peterson's mix is a well-done tribute to Byrd's fusion years!

01. The Donald Byrd Seven - Kwame - Recorded live in Boston
It goes without saying that 45 King is a master at this DJ thang. Case in point, listen to this mix he threw up on Soundcloud recently. The master of the 7" mix loaded this mix with a bunch of funky disco breaks. You'll have a hard time keeping still while this one plays!
