mixtape mondays Chairman Mao x Impulse Records
The homie Chairman Mao just posted his newest mix for RBMA radio over at Egotrip, what he describes as " an autumnal soundtrack for all y’alls consisting of a few of my favorites from the Impulse Records catalog." Which is all you really need to know in order to sign up, but for those who remain not-knowing, find below a few words about the Impulse legacy below to chew on while you savor the mix.
The illest cat out of Belgium (one assumes) LeFtO's mixes are a steady source of new tunes and artists to watch (cf. our recent First Look on Hawk House) mostly because they're so damn eclectic. His selection seems to be driven by some kind of faded algorithim which computes that if you like Tyler, The Creator, maybe you would also like Four Tet? Or this new remix of the Owiny Sigoma Band.
