Mélat Releases Single "Sit Down" With Sylvan LaCue, Preps New LP

Radio may not make it seem that way, but there's always a place for quality R&B music - and Mélat is steady creating it.

Okayplayers may recognize the Austin, Tx.-based singer from her songs "Twenty Ten" and "Mercury Retrograde." She has released two quality EPs called Move Me and It Happens So Fast since 2014, and now she's prepping for her first retail album, MéVen, which will be available on Monday, Nov. 28.

Mélat described the album to Okayplayer: "It's called MéVen as a mixture of the term Maven and my name. The vision is beauty amidst desolation, maintaining and pioneering my personal truth of courage, identity, and love in an environment that isn't always suitable whether it be the music world, personal life, or professional life and sharing that vision with as many people as possible."
