Megan Thee Stallion has been open about her fitness journey. The hip-hop superstar has shared her workouts on social media and spoken candidly about how much working out has benefited her physically and mentally.
She launched her own Nike Core workout series in 2021. In addition to physical fitness, back in 2024, Megan told Women’s Health that getting to the gym helped her improve her emotional health.
“Working on myself made me get into working out because I needed to focus my energy somewhere else,” she explained at the time. “I used working out to escape and to get happy.”
She and her boyfriend, Klay Thompson, have shared their workout sessions on Instagram.
During a photo shoot for her Dunkin Protein Milk and Protein Refreshers collaboration, she recently talked to EBONY about what her approach to the gym has become.
Here are three takeaways:
She dresses to feel and look good
Megan Thee Stallion: Every time I get dressed for the gym, I’m definitely putting on clothes that make me feel good. It’s something about looking at yourself doing your reps, looking at yourself sweat, that’s like ‘yeah, I’m really in here putting in work.’ I might be able to do a couple of little more squats.
Skin and hair
My skin is very sensitive. If I open up these pores and let any drop of makeup get in there, I’m done for it.I go to the gym as I am. If I had on blue hair at the photo shoot, the gym getting the blue hair too. If I had braids, then braids at the gym.
Music
My gym playlist is so all over the place. I could go from ‘Ain’t It Fun’ to ‘Poppin’ My Collar.’ Whatever is keeping me upbeat, whatever’s keeping me going on that StairMaster, that’s what I gotta listen to. I do have some stuff from Act 3 on my gym playlist.
