Mary J. Blige Announces Las Vegas Residency
The nine-time Grammy winner announced ‘My Life, My Story’ the day after her birthday.

Mary J. Blige is coming to Sin City. The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul has announced her first-ever Las Vegas residency — just after celebrating her 55th birthday on Monday, Jan. 12, Mary J. Blige: My Life, My Story is taking place at Dolby Live at Park MGM throughout May and July. Blige shared the news with a promo reel on social media.
“I’ve been so excited to announce this Vegas residency,” she said in a press release. “Creating a show like this has been something I’ve always wanted to do. It’s a chance to get my fans together from all over — different cities, states and countries — to experience something together. My Life, My Story will be just that — with some surprises for my fans that have been there through it all. See you in May!”
During an appearance on the Today show, Blige talked about the residency and what to expect.
“It’s going to be done more theatrically,” she shared. “It’s still going to have the music, it’s still going to be fun — but it’s a story, so there’s going to be actors and actresses. So the music tells the story. I have so many songs that I haven’t performed yet for my fans… The actors are going to narrate the music, but you’re still going to have a good time.”
Tickets go on sale on Friday, Jan. 16 at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET. Fans will also have access to a pre-sale beginning Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 10 a.m. PT. Members of MGM Rewards, MGM Resorts’ loyalty rewards program, as well as Live Nation and Ticketmaster customers, will receive access to a pre-sale beginning Thursday, Jan. 15 at 10 a.m. PT. All pre-sales will end Thursday, Jan. 15, at 10 p.m. PT.
