The Cuz I Love You artist performed on Thursday, June 27, at the festival, and took to Twitter afterward to speak on the alleged attack.

In a series of tweets, Lizzo claimed that the security guard "slapped and manhandled my hair stylist and stylist." She also tweeted a video of the security guard backstage and identified him as the one who attacked her team, and also reportedly called them a "racist bigot." The video has since been deleted, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Since then, Summerfest has issued a statement on the matter.
\u201c1/2 Lizzo gave an incredible performance which she now feels is tarnished by events which occurred during the performance. We do not tolerate racism in any form. We will conduct a thorough investigation.\u201d
"Lizzo gave an incredible performance which she now feels is tarnished by events which occurred during the performance. We do not tolerate racism in any form. We will conduct a thorough investigation," the statement read. "We have an experienced crowd management staff who strive to protect performers & fans. While there may be challenges during a performance, we expect those challenges to be handled professionally & respectfully. If those standards were not met, we will take appropriate action."
Lizzo recently performed at the BET Awards. The performance was well-received by Rihanna, who was seen dancing and applauding Lizzo during her live performance of "Truth Hurts."
