School is back in session, and LeBron James is making sure his "I Promise" School students get to class in style. On Monday, LeBron gifted 800 pairs of LeBron 16s to the middle and high schoolers of the Akron school. As a reward for their hard work and motivation to "keep pushing," students were allowed to pick from any colorway.
Nike Basketball released the 16th edition of LeBron's signature shoe in September 2018. In November, they collaborated with Foot Locker's House of Hoops to release an official colorway dedicated to the "I Promise" school. As part of the "We Are Family" drawing, all proceeds went directly to the school via the LeBron James Family Foundation. Winners received one of seven custom signed surfboards (in celebration of James' first season in Los Angeles) and a pair of the "I Promise" 16s.
