Suppose we've all been charmed by the infectious bounce of Kaytranada's 99.9% LP since its early summer unveiling. But the man behind the beats has remained fairly reclusive in the time between, with only a FADER spread and a few magic video moments offering a lens into that madcap music mind. Red Bull Music Academy is currently holding court in the producer's hometown of Montreal and moments ago live-streamed the opening remarks of Kaytra's inaugural RBMA address. In the first twelve minutes alone, Kaytra talks house and his slew of electric collaborations, including Syd's feature on "You're The One" (the video for which just arrived yesterday) and Karriem Riggins' assist on "Bus Ride."
Though the lecture has clearly been shot, when the official release will arrive is still undetermined. But we'll wait tapping our toes and screwing up our necks to the tune of 99.9% or the follow-up mixtape .001%, both of which are amongst the year's best offerings.
