Once again, Kanye West is at the top of the Billboard 200 chart. West's eighth studio album, Ye, is the number one album in the country. According to Nielsen Music, Ye earned 208,000 equivalent album units in the week spanning from June 1st to June 7th. About 85,000 of that comes from traditional album sales.
Ye is the eighth Kanye album to go number one. Kanye has had eight consecutive number one albums (including his collabo with JAY-Z, Watch the Throne.) Only Eminem and The Beatles have been able to release eight number one albums in a row.
Ye had the fifth largest opening for an album this year, behind Post Malone’sbeerbongs & bentleys (461,000), J. Cole’sKOD (397,000), Justin Timberlake’sMan of the Woods (293,000) and Cardi B’sInvasion of Privacy (255,000 units).
