On Thursday, April 11th, Disney revealed the first details of their new streaming service Disney+. The announcement comes only three weeks after the company closed its $71.3 billion of acquisition of 21st Century Fox.
Disney+ will feature an extensive catalog of content — including Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars. Two things immediately stand out in comparison to Netflix: the price point. Disney+ will cost only $6.99 a month (in comparison to Netflix, where the cheapest plan is $8.99.) And the fact that movies will become available right after its home release. It's something that doesn't happen on Netflix. (This might cause problems for Amazon and Apple, however.)

Also with the announcement came news about a slate of new Marvel and Star Wars: including a show about Loki, another one centered around Scarlet Witch, one with Hawkeye as the lead, and the highly anticipated Star Wars show The Mandalorian.
Disney+ launches on November 12, 2019, at $6.99 per month.
