While the legal battle for his estate rages on, Prince's vaulted recordings are finally seeing the light of day. Last month, an official career-spanning greatest hits compilation Prince 4 Ever was announced, promising to arrive with the unreleased track "Moonbeam Levels," originally recorded in 1982 to be included on 1999, but shelved until this very day.
And now, as promised, "Moonbeam Levels" has been released ahead of the greatest hits album, as our first taste of what's to come. Also on the way, a remastered and extended version of the classic Purple Rain, slated to include unreleased material as well, though details on that release are still slim.
