Guru's 'Jazzmatazz Vol. 1' Has Been Reissued On Vinyl

Widely considered a classic, Guru's solo debut, JazzmatazzVol. 1, is one of the very first records in which hip-hop and jazz drink from the very same pool at the very same time. The record features a backing band lined with all-star jazz cats like Roy Ayers, Donald Byrd, Lonnie Liston Smith and Branford Marsalis to name just a few. Now 23 years after its initial release we have modern masterpieces like To Pimp A Butterfly and The Epic, both of which owe no small debt to the genre-smashing feels of Jazzmatazz Vol. 1.

All of which is to say it's only right that the record makes its way back to vinyl for the world to enjoy from between the dust and grooves. And that's just what's been done, as the album has been reissued on wax for the first time, and is available to purchase exclusively via Amoeba Music.
