NBA All-Star Weekend has become one of the most anticipated weekends in basketball. And these days, it’s about more than the sport. It’s about proximity — who’s in town, who’s pulling up to which events, who’s talking to who, and who’s shaping the energy beyond the court.

Over the weekend, Los Angeles will become even more of a cultural hotbed than it already is. Athletes, artists, executives and fans will be rubbing elbows in the same spaces. Conversations that might normally happen over email, through publicists or in DMs might spill into lounges, stages, sidewalks or sidelines. The game is the highlight, but the surrounding moments are what give All-Star Weekend its color.

On Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, that energy stretches across an entire city block as The Legends of Basketball — formerly known as the National Basketball Retired Players Association — hosts The Legends Bash in partnership with Okayplayer. The VIP experience brings athletes, artists, executives and culture shifters under one roof in LA.

Expect NBA Legends like Carmelo Anthony and Matt Barnes to be in attendance, alongside appearances from Kyrie Irving, Baron Davis, Shawn Marion, Antonio Davis and more. The room will also include rappers Maino, Dave East, Jim Jones and Fabolous (Let’s Rap About It podcast), as well as journalist Marc J. Spears.

But the night isn’t just about who shows up. It’s about what happens once they’re in the room.

A custom stage will anchor the block party with a special performance from Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick, bridging hip-hop’s foundational era with the present. DJ Jae Murphy will soundtrack the evening, while curated spaces — from the Okayplayer House activation, designed for culture and connection, to a Vinyl Lounge, Gaming Lounge and Cigar Lounge — shape the moment. Vendor pop-ups, exclusive Okayplayer merchandise from OkayShop, and elevated culinary experiences round out the night.

All-Star Weekend is often framed around what happens inside the arena — the friendly competition on the court between rookies, All-Stars and seasoned vets, the highlight plays and viral moments. The Legends Bash leans into everything that happens around it — where basketball, music and culture orbit each other, while influencing one another at the same time.

And on a weekend where every city corner carries energy and anticipation, Friday offers a space where the energy gathers and expands.
