Fall Movies and TV Shows We’re Looking Forward To
From ‘Welcome To Derry’ to ‘The Smashing Machine’ there are some entertaining releases coming to theaters and the small screen throughout the fall.

Abbott Elementary returns! Bel-Air is saying goodbye! The end of Stranger Things!
The fall months don’t just mean football and pumpkin spice–no, the season also means a new slate of TV shows and movies! There are quite a few returning favorites on the small screen–as well as series making their debuts. And on the big screen, there are some major releases expected before awards season kicks off properly in the winter.
Here are our picks for the most anticipated TV shows and movies this fall.
‘IT: Welcome to Derry’
Oct. 26
This prequel series to the two-part films delves into the horrific history of the seemingly sleepy town of Derry and the terrifying monster-clown known as Pennywise. The series is developed by IT director Andy Muschietti and stars Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo and Bill Skarsgard
‘Bel-Air’
Nov. 24
It began as an idea on YouTube and now the Peacock hit returns for its fourth and final season. As Will (Jabari Banks) kicks off his senior year and Carlton (Olly Sholotan) comes to grips with the choices he’s made, Aunt Viv (Cassandra Freeman) and Hillary (Coco Jones) are planning for the future.
‘All’s Fair’
Nov. 4
Kim Kardashian leads a cast that includes Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash and Teyana Taylor as lawyers at an all-female divorce law firm. Kardashian plays the firm’s founder and you can expect to see plenty of scene-stealing from the legendary Glenn Close.
‘High Potential’
Sept. 16
Kaitlin Olson, Judy Reyes and Mekhi Phifer lead a stellar cast. Season 2 of the dramedy will find Morgan (Olson) fighting to protect her family from the Game Maker as the LAPD has to decide whether to trust her instincts before the next move turns fatal.
‘Gen V’
Sept. 17
Season 2 of the acclaimed spinoff of The Boys is finally here – and it looks to factor heavily into the final season of that hit show. Starring Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, the show’s student body is reeling after last season’s events at Godolkin University, and now there’s a mysterious new Dean. As our heroes learn the history of their beloved school, they realize that this whole thing is bigger than they thought.
‘Stranger Things’
Nov. 26
All good …Things come to an end. It’s finally time to say goodbye to Hawkins, Indiana; as our crew of young friends face off against the evil in their hometown for the final time. It’s been a great run for Eleven and her buddies; and the world can’t wait to see how it all wraps up.
‘Reasonable Doubt’
Sept. 18
Starring Emayatzy Corinealdi, McKinley Freeman and Joseph Sikora — with Morris Chestnut, Rumer Willis and Lori Harvey. The show’s third season kicks off with Jax being asked to help a former child star — but she soon realizes that she’s putting her own professional future at risk.
‘Hotel Costiera’
Sept. 24
This Jesse Williams vehicle is a little bit of everything: a little action, drama and comedy–all mixed together in what hopes to be a hit. The show follows former U.S. Marine Daniel De Luca (Williams) as he returns to Italy to fix up one of the world’s most luxurious hotels and he's looking for the wealthy owner’s daughter.
‘Loot'
Oct. 15
Season 3 for Maya Rudolph, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez and co., as the crew from The Wells Foundation to help Molly give away her money. The new season will also feature a bevy of guest stars appearances: including D’Arcy Carden, Adam Scott , Zane Phillips, Henry Winkler and X Mayo.
‘Abbott Elementary’
Oct. 1
Quinta Brunson, Tyler James Williams, Sheryl Lee Ralph and the gang are back for Season 5. The ongoing conflict of Janine (Brunson) and Gregory’s (Tyler James Williams) relationship sits center stage now that they are officially an item. And the season kicks off with a Philadelphia Phillies game.
'St Denis Medical'
Nov. 3
The ensemble mockumentary comedy returns with stars Wendi McLendon-Covey and David Alan Grier. The series follows the happenings at an underfunded Oregon hospital, and it heads into its second season with Joyce (McLendon-Covey) struggling with a large private donation.
‘Wonder Man’
Early Dec.
The newest Disney+ series from Marvel premieres in early December with Yahya Abdul Mateen II as the titular hero. With Demetrius Grosse, Ed Harris and none other than Sir Ben Kingsley — the show boasts some serious star power.
‘HIM’
Sept. 19
In case anyone forgot, Marlon Wayans is reminding everyone how strong a dramatic actor he can be in this movie about athletes and obsession. From executive producer Jordan Peele comes a tale about the dark side of pro sports.
‘One Battle After Another’
Sept. 26
Paul Thomas Anderson brings together Leonardo DiCaprio, Teyana Taylor, Regina Hall and newcomer Chase Infiniti for this story about a down-on-his-luck former revolutionary who will do anything to save his daughter.
‘The Smashing Machine’
Oct. 3
Directed by Benny Safdie, the early buzz on this highly-anticipated film suggests that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson could land an Academy Award nomination for this dramatic turn as former amateur wrestler and MMA fighter, Mark Kerr.
‘Tron: Ares’
Oct. 10
Jared Leto and Evan Peters lead the cast in this sequel. Mankind encounters AI beings for the first time after a highly sophisticated programme, Ares, leaves the digital world for a dangerous mission in the real world.
‘Good Fortune’
Oct. 17
A well-meaning angel (Keanu Reeves) steps in to improve the life of a hapless delivery guy (Aziz Ansari) by swapping his life with that of his wealthy boss (Seth Rogen). And Ansari also gets to flex his directing chops in this existential comedy with an all-star cast.
‘Hedda’
(Oct. 22)
A woman is torn between lovers past and present over the course of one steamy night. From director Nia DaCosta—and based on the play Hedda Gabler by Henrik Ibsen—Tessa Thompson stars in the character drama she was born for.
‘Wicked: For Good’
Nov. 21
Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo return for the sequel to last year‘s blockbuster musical should be a cinematic event and the unofficial kickstart to awards season as winter rolls around.
‘Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery’
Nov. 26
Rian Johnson is back in the director’s chair for this third entry in the ever-popular Knives Out franchise. This time around, Mila Kunis, Kerry Washington and Josh Brolin get to join in the fun.
