Sean “Diddy” Combs will be getting out of prison earlier than he expected. The fallen mogul is currently serving a 50-month sentence for prostitution-related charges at New Jersey’s Fort Dix Correctional. According to Federal Bureau of Prisons records, Combs is now scheduled to be freed on April 25, 2028.

This comes after Combs’ initial release date of May 8, 2028 was pushed back one month to June 4, 2028. There were rumors that the hitmaker smuggled alcohol into a facility, which his representatives denied.

“He has not violated any prison rules," Combs' rep told People in a November statement. "His sobriety and self-discipline are priorities, and he is taking them seriously.” He also added: “We ask the public and the press to give him the benefit of the doubt, the privacy to focus on his personal growth, and the grace to move forward in peace."

“I ask your honor for a chance to be a father again,” Combs said prior to his sentencing. “A son again… a leader in my community again… for a chance to get the help that I desperately need to be a better person.”

Combs was sentenced last October to federal prison after being convicted of transporting people across state lines for sexual encounters. He was acquitted of separate sex‑trafficking and racketeering charges that carried potential life sentences.

"I am not this larger-than-life person. I am just a human being. I was trying my best. I got lost in my excess and lost in my ego," Combs said in October 2025. "Because of my decision, I lost my freedom and the opportunity to raise my children and be there for my mother."

Prosecutor Christy Slavik told the judge at the time that Combs not serving serious prison time would excuse years of violence.

“It’s a case about a man who did horrible things to real people to satisfy his own sexual gratification,” she said. “His currency was control. And he weaponized that currency to devastating effects on the victims.”
