David Bowie's Final Recordings To Be Released On 'Lazarus' Musical's Cast Album

At the top of this watershed year, David Bowie departed this mortal coil for the planet from which he came. The world shook and wept and remembered an uncommon visionary that changed the landscape for musicians. His final album Blackstar (or ★, for short) arrived just days before his death and seemed to be the last chapter in his near half-century saga of innovation on and off stage. Now the cast album for the Broadway component to his last dance, Lazarus, is set to release on October 21st featuring the musical's full set of compositions as well as a second CD with four of Bowie's final unreleased recordings for the behemoth release, heard only in onstage as performed by the cast. It'll follow the Who Can I Be Now? box-set (dropping September 23rd) which holds five remastered albums and his unreleased The Gouster LP.
