Dame Dash sat down with The Breakfast Club for an interview and things quickly became hostile and tense between the former Roc-A-Fella Records CEO and host Charlamagne Tha God.
At one particularly heated point of the conversation, Dame comes dangerously close to threatening the famously ornery media personality. "I can punch you right in your face like a grown man and you won't do sh*t. If we was on the street right now and you were talking like that, I would have f*cked you up,” Dash said. "What I'm saying is when you interrupt me and you say certain things, where I'm from, the masculine man will f*ck you up."
The conversation is one that encompassed a broad range of topics. At one point, Charlamagne asked Dash if it was true that 50 Cent bought the rights to the Paid in Full movie. Dame originally executive-produced the flick back in 2002. Dash alleged that 50 is trolling and implied there are no rights to buy.
"He's cappin'," Dash said. "I told you he doesn't have the rights. No one has the rights. Who you gonna buy the rights from? I wasn't planning on making Paid In Full about those people. Again, I was making *my* Paid In Full. You don't have to buy the rights; I was actually there. You know 50 trolls."
DJ Envy also asked Dash about his filing for bankruptcy earlier this month. Dame filed a petition claiming he has no monthly income and only has $4,350 to his name.
"I filed because you know that guy Chris Brown has been suing me," he explained, referring to the movie producer. "So every time I was launching something with my family office, he would send me a letter saying that I owed him money, but it was my family office. But it muddies the waters. So if you have a contract, especially if you working here, and somebody sends a bum letter. As soon as it's a lawyer, it shuts down. It muddies the water, and I was about to make an announcement."
But things went off the rails between Dash and Charlamagne, devolving into Dash berating the radio host. Charlamagne cracked jokes about Dash’s debt issues, with Dash saying that Charlamagne was a poor role model for Black men. Dash also took aim at Charlamagne’s perceived defenses of Dame’s former partner, Jay-Z.
"I'm thinking to myself, either you got a crush on this man or he's paying you. One or the other. Did you buy that shirt? [...] You went and bought that? They didn't give it to you as much as you say nice things [...] So, I think I think you're gay. I'm sorry," Dame said.
Dash also said that he's the new chairman of REVOLT TV, which Loren Lorosa later debunked via Instagram, stating that Revolt’s PR has denied Dame’s claim.
