Will Smith will be serving as a member of the Cannes Film Festival's jury this year.

Smith joins jury members Pedro AlmodóvarJessica ChastainFan Bingbing, Paolo Sorrentino, Maren Ade, Agnès Jaoui, Park Chan-wook, and Gabriel Yared.

Smith being chosen to be a part of this year's jury is somewhat surprising, considering that the acclaimed actor has never had a movie play at Cannes.

Smith is currently in talks to portray the Genie in a live-action adaptation of Aladdin, and was initially in talks to be a part of a live-action adaptation of Dumbo (directed by Tim Burton), although the latter is no longer the case.

The multi-talented entertainer is also getting ready to reunite with DJ Jazzy Jeff for a special performance in the UK. The duo will be performing a reunion show at Livewire Festival in Blackpool on Sunday, August 27, with tickets for the event already on sale.

Hopefully, within the set, the duo will perform the well-known theme song to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air which, according to Jazzy Jeff, only took 15 minutes to make.

"We literally went into the studio and made the theme song in about 15 minutes," the producer said. "One of the things Will used to always say is the hardest part to come up with for a song is the concept, but the concept behind the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was already laid out. I ended up just going in and programming some music, and he wrote something and laid it down. I did rough mix and sent it in, and in about three weeks it was on NBC. In my mind, it was just kind of like, 'Oh my God, so that's how it works? It's that easy?'"
