Watch The Trailer for Jamie Foxx's Upcoming Netflix Sitcom

The comedian is back in sitcom mode with the new series, Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!.

Two decades after his namesake show left the air, Jamie Foxx is readying a return to the sitcom format with a new Netflix series. And now we're getting our first look at the show.

Earlier this week, Netflix shared the first trailer for Foxx's new project, Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!. Clocking in at two-and-half-minutes-long, the trailer previews a new batch of characters from Foxx, who takes a page out of Eddie Murphy's Nutty Professor book by playing a successful businessman and single father to his teenage daughter, but also a cartoonish priest, a neighbor, and probably quite a few others in the series. The show will also reunite Foxx with his In Living Color co-star, David Alan Grier, who plays a weed-savvy grandfather. Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! is based on Foxx's own experience raising his daughter Corinne, who wrote and produced the show alongside her father. "I can’t wait for you guys to see my literal diary come to life," Corinne wrote on Instagram when production on the series wrapped late last year.

The show arrives in a particularly active calendar year for Foxx, who voiced Pixar's first black lead in the unanimously adored animated film, Soul in 2020. The comedian is also leaning into the comic book movie lane, returning as Electro in the upcoming Spiderman film, No Way Home (out December 17th,) and recently signing on for the titular role in a forthcoming reboot of Spawn from Blumhouse, which has yet to begin production.

Watch the trailer for Jamie Foxx's upcoming Netflix sitcom, Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! below. Catch the show's premiere on April 14th.
