It's been two years since Pusha T dropped a full-length project, and in recent months, he's been opening up about his next projects. On Tuesday, he broke the news that his next release will be a reunion. In an interview for Rap Caviar with Steven Victor, Pusha revealed he'd be teaming up with The Neptunes and Kanye West for at least one of his upcoming albums.
"As of right now, it's only Ye and Pharrell," he said excitedly. "And Neptunes, I'm sorry. That's it. Ain't nothing to talk about...you know I bring the best out of everybody."
Victor adds fuel to the fire, teasing listeners by revealing that he's heard some of the music already.
"I gotta say, I heard a couple of the Pharrell joints," Victor said. "I heard like four and I immediately put an order in for a car."
Kanye West produced Pusha's last album, 2018's Daytona, but he hasn't worked with Pharrell since 2013. The two linked up for two tracks on My Name is My Name: "Suicide" with fellow Re-Up Gang member Ab-Liva and "S.N.I.T.C.H."
This year, Pusha's stuck to guest appearances: flaunting his good standing with hip-hop tastemakers and the IRS on Jadakiss' "Hunting Season," flexing alonside Killer Mike and Black Thought on Streams of Thought, Vol. 3's "Good Morning."
Earlier this year, he revealed he has "a hard drive full of gems" with Madlib. At the time, he said he was working on three separate projects. Stay tuned for further updates.
