Jay-Z Set To Perform For 'Saturday Night Live' Season 43 Premiere

For its 43rd season premiere, Saturday Night Live tapped Jay-Z and Ryan Gosling as its musical guest and host, respectively.

The selection makes sense considering the former just released 13th studio album 4:44 and the latter has a new film coming out, Blade Runner 2049, on October 6. SNL made the announcement via Twitter.

Earlier this week, Jay-Z sat down with Elliott Wilson and Brian "B. Dot" Miller on their Rap Radar Podcast (which is sponsored by Tidal) to talk about the subject matter of 4:44. The candid conversation found the rapper and entrepreneur talking about everything from Kanye West to the infamous elevator incident with Solange.

"What really hurt me was, you can't bring my wife and my kids into it...Like, Kanye is my little brother. He's talked about me a hundred times," Jay-Z said. "He even made a song called 'Big Brother.' We’ve gotten past bigger issues. But you brought my family into it, now it's a problem...You know it's a problem because me and him would have been talked about it, been resolved our issues. And he knows crossed the line. He knows. And I know he knows. 'Cause we've never let this much space go between one of our disagreements and we've had many. That’s part of who we are."

The 43rd season premiere of SNL will take place on September 30.
