Jamie Foxx Recovering After Reported Health Scare

Oscar-winning actor and vocalist Jamie Foxx is reportedly in ‘recovery’ after suffering a reported ‘medical complication.’

The Foxx Family is calling for privacy after Oscar-winning actor and vocalist Jamie Foxx experienced a recent health scare on Tuesday (April 11). The following day, Foxx’s eldest daughter, Corrine, released a statement on Instagram about the incident.

“We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers,” the statement read. “The family asks for privacy during this time.”

Although no further news was shared about the “medical complication,” TMZ reported that some of the 55-year-old’s family members rushed into town to visit him at the hospital.

Foxx was in Atlanta filming Back In Action, an upcoming Netflix action-comedy movie with Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close. The Soul actor, legal name Eric Marlon Bishop, last starred in the Netflix film Day Shift, which he also executive produced. Some of Foxx’s most memorable films include 2012’s Django Unchained, 2004’s Ray, and 2017’s Baby Driver. From 1996 to 2001, the Texas-born actor starred in The WB sitcom The Jamie Foxx Show, where he played Jamie King, an aspiring musician who works at his aunt and uncle’s hotel and various singing gigs.

Next, the actor will star in Netflix sci-fi comedy They Cloned Tyrone, beside John Boyega (The Woman King, Breaking), and Teyonah Parris (The Marvels, Candyman).

“A series of eerie events thrusts an unlikely trio onto the trail of a nefarious government conspiracy,” a brief description of the film reads. They Cloned Tyrone is expected to release on July 21.
