In the Latest 'The Batman' Trailer, We Get the First Extended Look at The Riddler & Catwoman

In new The Batman trailer "The Bat and The Cat", Batman (Robert Pattinson) and Selina Kyle/Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz) team up as lovers and foes.

Two months after teasing The Batman with a first glimpse, Warner Bros. Pictures has released another trailer which centers Batman and Selina Kyle joining forces in opposition to The Riddler (Paul Dano). Kyle teases multiple costume changes, complete with a minimalist cat mask, while Batman faces off with The Riddler for supremacy over Gotham.

“I trust you to unmask the truth about this cesspool we call a city. You’re part of this too,” The Riddler says to the Dark Knight, ultimately revealing that he knows the masked vigilante's true identity. “Oh you’re really not as smart as I thought you were… Bruce Wayne.”

Batman's loyal butler Alfred (Andy Serkis) also makes an appearance, the two in conflict about Batman's past. Kyle, with a little of stray cats, also has a brief quarrel with Batman in the trailer, but not before announcing their alliance.

"If we don't stand up, no one will... The Bat and the Cat, it's got a nice ring," she says.

The movie is directed by Matt Reeves, who co-wrote the film's screenplay with Peter Craig. Cinematographer Greig Fraser will serve as photography director while Michael Giacchino composes the score.

Although The Batman won't be a part of the DC Multiverse, the film will receive multiple Gotham-centric spinoffs. Earlier this month, it was announced that villain The Penguin will get his own series on HBO Max. The platform has also announced for a Gotham Police Department series helmed by executive producer and showrunner Joe Barton.

The Batman will premiere in theaters on March 4th, and will be available for stream on HBO Max on April 19, 2022.
