Khaby Lame, TikTok’s Most Followed Influencer, Is Getting Paid Up To $750K Per Post
Boasting 149.5 million followers, most-followed TikTok influencer Khaby Lame is on track to score $10 million in 2022.
Khaby Lame is on a TikTok takeover. It’s estimated that Lame is on-track to make $10 million by the end of 2022, with a profile with Fortune revealing that the 22-year-old makes up to $750,000 per clip.
Along with Lame’s TikTok content, he also racks in cash through online brand deals, making roughly $400,000 per clip for collaborations. Lame also earned $450,000 in partnership with Hugo Boss, walking in their Milan Fashion Week show and posting about it online. Fortune also revealed that Lame renewed a contract with a major Hollywood studio to the tune of $750,000 for a single clip.
“Most influencers get to a certain point in their career where they’ve endorsed and supported a number of brands and have a flat fee for these structures, but they start to want a bit more incentive or upside from those relationships,” Raina Penchansky, CEO and founder of influencer management company Digital Brand Architects, told Fortune. “That’s when we start to more meaningfully discuss ways for them to get into deeper relationships with companies or around companies they want to start.”
With his parents and three siblings, Lame immigrated from his birthplace of Senegal to Italy in 2001. Per CBS News, Lame officially became an Italian citizen in August.
“I am very proud,” he said after the citizenship ceremony. “I felt Italian even before today, because I’ve always lived here. I feel a great sense of responsibility for the oath I took. These are not just words.”
Lame, whose videos have received around 2.4 billion likes on the social media platform, has 149.5 million TikTok followers, making him the highest-followed person on TikTok. Despite this, the Black, Italy-raised influencer — nor any other Black TikTok influencers — didn’t make the Forbes “Highest Earners” list earlier this year.
