Emmys 2022: 'Euphoria' & 'Abbott Elementary' Receive Emmy Award Nominations

On Tuesday, the 74th Emmy Awards rolled out their nominations, including seven for Abbott Elementary, 16 for Euphoria and more.

It's winning season for ABC hit series Abbott Elementary. As nominations for the 74th Emmy Awards were announced on Tuesday (June 12), the series scored seven nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Tyler James Williams and with show lead and creator Quinta Brunson being nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Brunson now boasts the title as the first Black woman to receive three comedy Emmy nominations.

HBO teen drama Euphoria also received 16 nominations, with 25-year-old series star Zendaya breaking the Emmy record as youngest producing nominee and youngest two-time nominee. On Tuesday, she nabbed four nominations with Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama and Outstanding Music and Lyrics ("Elliott's Song" and "I'm Tired.") In 2020, the actress won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama for her portrayal of Rue in Euphoria.

FX comedy-drama Atlanta received three nominations for Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series (Three Slaps), Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series (New Jazz) and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for series creator Donald Glover.

Also receiving their first nominations include Sanaa Lathan for Outstanding Guest Actress in A Drama (Succession), Colton Domingo for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama (Euphoria), Jerrod Carmichael for Outstanding Guest Actor In A Comedy Series (Saturday Night Live) and a posthumous nomination for Chadwick Boseman for Outstanding Character Voice-over (What If... ?).

The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards will air live Monday, September 12 at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT on NBC and Peacock. Check out the full list of 2022 Emmy nominations below:
