Disney+ Is Developing A New 'Daredevil' Series

After being cancelled by Netflix in 2018 after three seasons, Marvel series Daredevil is currently in development on Disney+.

Daredevil has a new home. On Friday, it was announced that the series is in development on Disney+, where previous episodes of the series are now available for streaming. Moving forward with the Charlie Cox-starring show is Matt Corman and Chris Ord, who are set to write and produce.

Additional Marvel shows Luke CageJessica JonesIron FistThe Punisher and The Defenders also air exclusively on Disney+, a move that began in March. Cox last appeared as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home, where he revealed in an interview with Radio Times that upon watching the film in a theater, moviegoers were not enthused about his appearance as rumored.

“It’s funny, I got so many text messages and so many calls about that moment in the cinema,” Cox said. “My nephew sent me a recording of everyone cheering. So, I snuck into a movie theater near where I live and literally stood in the corridor… and, sadly, my experience was it was dead f******* quiet!” Cox said. “I must have been in one of the only movie theatres in America that was dead silent, and it was packed, so it was a real anti-climax.”

Marvel has not confirmed the report that Disney+ will take on the series, but in an interview with CinemaBlend last December, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige assured that, “If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil."
