Dave Chappelle Has Earned His First-Ever Grammy Award Nomination

After earning his first-ever Emmy for hosting Saturday Night Live last year, Dave Chappelle may very well earn his first-ever Grammy.

As we included in our list of 2018 Grammy Award nominees, Chappelle has been nominated for Best Comedy Album for his two Netflix specials the Heart of Texas and The Age of Spin. Chappelle will be competing against   Jerry Seinfeld, Sarah Silverman, Kevin Hart, and Jim Gaffigan for the award.

Recently, it was announced that the third and final Netflix special from Chappelle was dropping right before the end of the year. Titled Equinimity, the third special was teased with a short video where Chappelle cameos in a scene from Stranger ThingsEquinimity will debut on New Year’s Eve.

In regards to the 2018 Grammy Awards, Jay-Z leads the pack with eight nominations this year, including nods for album of the year, record of the year, song of the year, and best rap album. Kendrick Lamar comes after with seven nominations, while Bruno Mars follows with six. SZA is this year’s most Grammy-nominated woman with five nods while Khalid, Childish Gambino, and producer No I.D. also scored five nominations.
