Baltimore Ravens Owner Resisting Colin Kaepernick Signing

Steve Bisciotti, the owner of the Baltimore Ravens, is resistant to bring on Colin Kaepernick as a quarterback.

In a report from ESPN, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh and general manager Ozzie Newsome have allegedly met resistance from Bisciotti in signing Kaepernick. However, both Harbaugh and Newsome have said that the claims are incorrect, with the two releasing a statement Wednesday saying Bisciotti "has not told us we cannot sign Colin Kaepernick."We are going through a process, and we have not made a decision," the statement said. "Steve Bisciotti has not told us we cannot sign Colin Kaepernick, nor has he blocked the move. Whoever is making those claims is wrong

When asked for an update on the status of Kaepernick, Harbaugh told reporters: "I do not have an update on Colin Kaepernick. I'll frame that this way: there are other positions that we're looking at too and I don't have any updates on those either. I think they're all in the same category."

Kaepernick has been a free agent since March 1, when he opted out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers. The football received national attention last season when he knelt during the national anthem to protest social justice (however, he will reportedly no longer do that this year).

A number of people have spoken out against Kaepernick's, with the most recent one being former Ravens player Ray Lewis. Lewis took to his Twitter to advise Kaepernick to keep his activism private, saying: "The football field is our sanctuary. If you do nothing else, young man, get back on the football field and let your play speak for itself. And what you do off the field, don't let too many people know, because they gonna judge you anyway, no matter what you do, no matter if it's good or bad."

"I ain't got nothing against you. I wish you the best in life," Lewis continued. "I hope you chase whatever God got for you to chase. And once again, I applaud what you stood up for, because I'm in the streets every day."
