Andre 3000 has teamed up with Meals on Wheels’ #PassItDown campaign.

On Tuesday afternoon, Andre 3000 put his flute down to make his ninth-ever Instagram post for a special cause. The legendary MC has teamed up with Meals on Wheels Atlanta for its #PassItDown holiday campaign, even sharing a homemade apple pie recipe as part of the movement.

“The holidays are different this year,” he wrote, “because we can’t hang with our friends & families like we would normally. But for many of our elders, they may be lonely or food insecure now and much of the year. I am happy to be part of the #PassItDown campaign with @mealsonwheelsatlanta because they are doing really amazing thing. My offering is my family recipe and helping to give love and support to an elder in need.”

With Andre’s endorsement, both members of OutKast have recently pledged to the movement. Last week, Big Boi shared his mother’s homemade banana cream pie recipe in solidarity with the program. Just $9 can feed an elder and their pet for the day. With millions of elders isolated for the holidays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Meals on Wheels is looking for volunteers and donations to deliver meals this holiday season.

Meals on Wheels Atlanta is also offering private gourmet catering for the holidays, as well as Georgia-grown treats, wrapped and shipped in time for the holidays. If you know a senior at risk of malnutrition, contact your local chapter of Meals on Wheels for more information on how to get involved.
