In an Instagram post this afternoon, Chance announced the cancelation, apologizing to fans and promising to "come back much stronger and better in 2020." The Big Tour was initially announced in the weeks following the release of the Chicago rapper's "debut" album The Big Day with an intended mid-September launch.
By the time September crept in, Chance and his wife welcomed their second child, sparking the tour's first delay to the end of the month. Eventually, September had come and gone and Chance had only performed the tour's hometown set, rescheduling the rest of the shows for early 2020. In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Chance explained his decision to take a brief paternity leave, citing the difficulty of being on the road with a newborn at home.
