Cardi B and Nicki Minaj’s War of Words: “Let the Reindeer Games Begin”

There is certainly no love lost between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj, as the two stars reignited their longstanding feud in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), on the heels of Cardi's new album, Am I the Drama?.

“Never provoke a writer while they’re [writing emoji],” Nicki tweeted as she plugged her forthcoming album, which is due to be released on March 27, 2026. 

“Let the reindeer games begin.”

Minaj seemed to mock Cardi’s project when she tweeted — and then deleted — “$4.99,” which is the promotional price of the album. Calling Cardi “Barney Dangerous,” Nicki ridiculed Am I the Drama?’s sales. The album was released on Sept. 19, and landed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, selling 200,000 equivalent album units while going double platinum in the first week.

“Abcdefgeeeeeeee,” Nicki wrote in one post, mocking Cardi’s lyrics in “Magnet.” “SUR GER REE TO LOOK LIKE MEEEEEE / tell the rat & tell J ZEEEEEE / Rico Fraud & PERJURY.”

“Fallin off the charts wit a big bellyyyy / RUNNING TRAINS. Barefoot, still smellyyyyy / Still. You. Could. Not. outsell. Meeeeee.”

Cardi B fired back by referencing Nicki’s husband and brother’s criminal issues. Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, was convicted of attempted rape in 1995 and required to register as a sex offender. In 2020, Nicki’s brother Jelani Maraj was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for raping an 11-year-old girl. 

Cardi also responded to the numbers claims and taunts about her recently having her fourth child.. 

“Damn she was streaming ‘Magnet’ hard as hell huh??” Cardi posted. 

“It’s not the gag that you think it is,” she added. “You been in the game like 16 years. You need to compare yourself to YOUR peers that started around YOUR time."

"Rihanna, Taylor swift, Drake…those are the numbers you need to be competing wit and you can’t cuz you doing lower than all of them… I was in high school when you came out wtf is you comparing yourself to me for???”

“Like you wasn’t going to different fertility doctors cuz you couldn’t reproduce from all them percs scrambling your eggs,” she wrote. “NOT ALLEGEDLY …Lord protect my babies.”
