Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Honored With Hollywood Walk of Fame Star

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony have been venerated with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. All five members of the Grammy-winning quintet were on hand when the star was unveiled Wednesday, July 8, honoring the group for a 35-year career that has featured numerous hit singles and three chart-topping albums. The ceremony was hosted by radio personality Big Boy, with fellow luminaries like Fat Joe and Ice-T on hand to honor Bone Thugs. 

"From the trenches to the stars, we've been through it all, through the fire and the rain," eldest member Flesh-N-Bone (born Stanley Howse) said during his acceptance speech. "We came from a place where opportunities were way too limited, so to be here standing with my brothers is something that I don't take for granted. All we wanted to do was share a particular sound to inspire the world, and I thank God for giving us another chance to celebrate together."

B.O.N.E. Enterpri$e debuted as teens in 1993, before being introduced to Ruthless Records founder Eazy-E, who would sign the speed-rappers as Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and going on to release their platinum-selling EP Creepin’ On Ah Come Up in 1994. The smash album E.1999: Eternal followed in 1995, as well as the blockbuster double album Art Of War in 1997. Along the way, the distinctively melodic flows of Bizzy Bone (Bryon McCane), Wish Bone (Charles Scruggs, Jr.), Krayzie Bone (Anthony Henderson), and brothers Layzie Bone (Steve Howse) and Flesh-N-Bone become widely known and imitated. 

"Usually, you only see people like this, we only get together during bad times," Ice-T said. "Let's just applaud the fact that all Bone Thugs are alive, healthy and here."

"They remain one of the most influential and best-selling hip-hop groups of all time," Big Boy said. "Matter of fact, I love to call these fellas veterans and relevant at the same damn time."
