Beyoncé Drops Unreleased Song "Morning Dew (Donk)"

The release is the kickstart of a rollout leading up to the superstar’s birthday and a celebratory re-issue of 'B'Day.'

Beyoncé attends the 2026 Met Gala celebrating "Costume Art" at Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 04, 2026 in New York City.

Beyoncé celebrated the Fourth of July and recognized the 20th anniversary of her sophomore album with a new song. The superstar released “Morning Dew (Donk),” which was co-written with Pharrell, The-Dream, and Darius Dixson and produced by Pharrell and Bey. It is set to appear on an upcoming reissue of B’Day, which is set to be released on September 4.

According to a press release, the track is “a direct nod to her loyal BeyHive to commemorate the upcoming epic celebration of B’Day.” It also features a visual from old footage shot by photographer Cliff Watts.

B’Day was Beyoncé’s second No. 1 album, with first week sales of 541,196 copies after its worldwide release Sept. 4, 2006, and in the United States on Sept. 5, 2006. The No. 1 debut on the U.S. Billboard 200 Album chart was repeated internationally, including Japan, where it topped the International album chart in less than three days.

“Morning Dew (Donk)” is Bey’s first new material since her 2024 Grammy-winning album, Cowboy Carter. The release marks a 60-day countdown to her next birthday and the re-issue of B’Day. It’s been almost a year since she ended her Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin' Circuit Tour in Las Vegas. Bey brought out Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland for an unexpected Destiny’s Child reunion, and the trio brought the house down at Allegiant Stadium.

Fans online are speculating that the song may be the first indicator of a third album in the trilogy begun by 2022’s Renaissance and Cowboy Carter, though she has not indicated directly that the single is connected to a new project.
