At the top of 2017, Ishamel “Butterfly” Butler and Tendai “Baba” Maraire announced Shabazz Palaces would rise not once, but twice more. Next week they’re slated to deliver two new albums, Quazarz vs. The Jealous Machines and Quazarz: Born On A Gangster Star.
Today, precisely a week ahead of schedule, the Sub Pop duo has shared a free and full preview of the double release via NPR’s First Listen, featuring Chimurenga Renaissance, Laz and Purple Tape Nate on Jealous Machines, while Gangster Star wrangles the likes of Thundercat, Loud Eyes Lou and more for the sister release.
