Now ShunGu is back with the second single from the upcoming album, and Okayplayer is happy to be premiering the track. The song, which is called “Pick up the Phone,” features an appearance from underground L.A.-based rapper Pink Siifu. The track features really mellow, low-fi production from ShunGu.

Speaking about the song, and why he decided to connect with PinkSiifu, ShunGu told us, via email:

Pink Siifu is the homie since we’ve met in Oakland in 2016. We like each other’s music. Since that we’re working on some collabs, even the ocean between our continents can’t separate love.
I wasn’t thinking of him when I made the track though. I just made it in the raw and dirty studio where I produced music one year ago….I’ve really had a good instant feeling when Pink Siifu sent me the track back. I feel like he understood and upgraded the vibe of the track.

ShunGu also dropped some deets about what to expect from the album (which we heard and can confirm is good):

The one sentence that would describe A Black Market the best, would be: ‘So I lived out my story, not in this world, but in my dreams,’
