Nelly Furtado Releases New Track "Islands Of Me"
At the kickoff party to New York Fashion Week, Canadian born singer Nelly Furtado premiered a new track called "Islands Of Me." After the performance Furtado sat down with i-D to talk about music and musical collaborations. Furtado talked about a new album she has been working on that is slated to drop in March 2017. The project is tentatively titled The Ride and is produced by John Congleton. The Ride was recorded in Dallas, Texas. Furtado also spoke about Dev Hynes ofBlood Orange. Nearly a year ago, Furtado performed with Dev Hynes at Harlem, NYC's legendary Apollo Theater in a collaboration entitled “Hadron Collider.” Furtado even contributed to his latest album Freetown Sound. Although The Ride will have no features, Furtado talked about future projects and collaborations including a possible remix of her music by none other that super producer Kaytranada. There was also talk of working with River Tiber and Odd Future's Hodgy Star(fka as Hodgy Beats). Back in July, Furtdado released a 90's inspired loosie entitled "Behind Your Back."
