Intercontinental emcee, singer and producer M.I.A. dropped "Y.A.L.A.", the second single off the upcoming album bearing her birth name Matangi as a title. The track boasts some of her hallmark glitchy sampling, deep-synth work and swaggered out and contentious vocal delivery; all the makings of a club smash with its playful beat poking fun at Drake's "The Motto", in which Y.O.L.O was first propagated.
The album was recorded over the last year and like her last 3 LPs, it is comprised of songs that were recorded all over the world. The XL Recordings artist has made the jump to Hov's own Roc Nation for management and is now boasting all of the fruits of life in the Roc family, sporting the very same entrepreneurial spark as its founder and CEO by releasing a collaborative line with Versace earlier this year. A busy lady with a busy creative path, M.I.A. is set to drop Matangi on November 5th, so keep your ears peeled for more in the coming weeks and listen to "Y.A.L.A." below.
