On June 1st of this year, The Beatles' seminal Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band will hit the half-century mark of its earthly tenure. For all intents and purposes, the groundbreaking release is considered to be amongst modern music's greatest leaps, and one of the earliest instances of sampling ever heard.

Naturally, a celebratory re-release is en route via Capitol Records holding a ton of previously unreleased material from the legendary sessions, including today's reveal; an unheard outtake of the album's opening title track, loaded with intimate chatter between The Fab Four, yet stripped of the roars and hollers that commenced the leading call of one of music's most celebrated releases.

The commemorative four-disc 50th anniversary edition of The Beatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band arrives on May 26th, mixed by Giles Martin, son of the late George Martin, paired with a double-disc of video featuring restored versions of a documentary that chronicles the album's creation. Pre-order your copy ahead of the release at The Beatles' web store.

For fans with cash to blow on rare memorabilia, John Lennon's sketch of the album cover is headed to auction.
