Another week, another excellent installment of a Knxwledge mixtape series. After just releasing a new edition of WrapTaypes a few weeks back, Stones Throw's heir to the throne is dipping back into poolside fodder with HEX . 10 . 8_.
Where WrapTaypes collects Knxw's twisted takes on hip-hop classics, Hexual Sealings serves as stash-spot for the producer's experiments in r&b. And this particular 10-track installation is cover-to-cover about as polished a piece as he's turned in since Yes Lawd! with Anderson .Paak as NxWorries, featuring a grip of smooth recallibrations to some of your favorite bump-and-grind anthems, including an ice-cold boogie flip of Busta Rhymes' "It's A Party" (produced by Easy Mo Bee, righteously remixed by the late J Dilla.)
Earlier this year, with the release of the duo's "Scared Money" video, a remix project to the 2016 standout (a second for .Paak following Malibu) was announced, though its' release date has yet to be revealed. But with the producer enjoying a fruitful return from a near four-month hiatus from Bandcamp bombing, it wouldn't be wishful to assume something's brewing on that front Either way, new Knxwledge is good Knxwledge always.
