Georgia Anne Muldrow Reinvents Afrofuturism Again on Two New Instrumental Tracks “When the Fonnk Radiates” and "Emo Blues" [Premiere]
We are proud to premiere two new songs from the upcoming album.
Building onto a discography that tracks 17 albums, 3 EPs, and 1 mixtape, West Coast singer, songwriter, and producer Georgia Anne Muldrow is getting ready to release a new instrumental collection. The project, titled VWETO II, will drop on on June 21st.
Muldrow is always reinventing the sounds of Afrofuturism. As the name VWETO suggests, of Ki-Kongo origin meaning “gravity,” this time, she’s looking to ground her listeners in the sounds of the universe. This album is filled with heavy beats and a distinct West Coast sound, she’s looking to travel into the spirit realm.
“Vweto II is an astral funk laden mindscape,” Georgia Anne Muldrow said. “Best used for long term discussions, late night car ciphers, deep contemplation, clearing the air after an argument or starting a brand new day. Repeat as needed. Uhuru.”
Today, we are proud to premiere the first two tracks from the album. Muldrow has shared two tracks to tease the albums release, “When the Fonnk Radiates” and "Emo Blues," both of which can be heard, below.
The artowork for the album, which can be seen above, was done by artist Tokio Aoyamo.
