After announcing that he has a new album coming out this year last month, Anderson .Paak has now given fans a new track.
Titled "Til It's Over," the song's use of electronic production may sound strange considering what listeners are often used to hearing from .Paak. But the track still maintains the soulfulness we've come to associate with the multi-talented artist.
The song originally debuted in a Spike Jonze-directed Apple commercial starring FKA Twigs. The ad can be viewed below. It's unknown if the song was one-off or a part of the forthcoming album .Paak is working on.
.Paak recently sat down with Triple J where he confirmed that he is working on the follow up to Malibu, and that the album should be coming out this year.
He also revealed that Dr. Dre will be an important part of the project, saying the acclaimed producer "had a heavy role in this new album that's almost done as well. Just going through the mixing phase. I won't say any dates but you can definitely expect it this year, sometime."
.Paak added:
"It's dope to be around like legends like that and you can feel the mutual respect. That's what I always did it for, I wasn't really thinking about money or fame, I just wanted the respect from the people I look up to musically. It's amazing."
