Viral 11-Year-Old Rapper Gets a Record Deal off the Strength of Her IG Videos

Alaya High, an 11-year-old who goes by the name Lay Lay, just signed a deal with Empire Records, after a number of videos of her freestyling went viral.

The video that put Lay Lay on the map came on May 15th. She posted a freestyle rapping over Blocboy JB's hit "Shoot."

The freestyle went viral and she got the attention of Moneybagg Yo who shared the freestyle.

Lay Lay also announced that she was getting ready to release a new single,Go Lay Lay Go, and a new album. (She also claims to be the youngest female rapper signed to a label. We can't verify if that is true.)
