Thundercat - What's In My Bag?

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Instead of the often regurgitated lines your favorite artist feeds you interviews, sometimes just letting them give you an in-depth explanation of what kind of music they buy/listen to is far more telling. Needless to say, I'm a big fan of Amoeba Music's ongoing 'What's In My Bag?' series. The latest artist to give us the rundown would be none other than bassist/singer/songwriter Thundercat. Some highlights from his shopping bag include Family Guy/American Dad creator Seth MacFarlane's album, Music Is Better Than Words, Ballads of The Green Berets ("just in case I ever decide to go to war by myself"), Legal Eagles, and Tyler, the Creator's Goblin. Some off the wall selections from an off the wall guy. Thundercat also goes on to speak about his relationship with Flying Lotus, Martin Lawrence's impact on his maturity, the movie Chronicle (I couldn't stand that shit), and more. Entertaining shit, check it out, below. And make sure you pick up Thundercat's new LP, Apocalypse, via iTunes.
