Pass The Popcorn: Denzel Has A Magnificent Mustache In 'The Magnificent Seven' Reboot Trailer
The Magnificent Seven, a 1960 spaghetti western classic will be getting a 21st century update this fall, helmed by director Antoine Fuqua. The reboot stars Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt and Ethan Hawke amongst others and is adapted from a screenplay written by the legendary Akira Kurosawa, whose Shichinin no samurai (BKA Seven Samurai) served as the bones for the iconic original, both of which are considered to be some old Hollywood's best.
The film follows Sam Chisholm (Washington) as he leads a a group of seven mustache-toting gun-slingers in protecting a town from blood-thirsty thieves and vandals intent on terrorizing. And while the film certainly has some tall boots to fill, the first trailer has arrived to day, offering us a glance into the ten-gallon caps, satchels and, of course, the epic mustache game that will dominate The Magnificent Seven and the imminent chatter that will revolve around the film. The Magnificent Seven hit theaters September 27th, but you can get your first taste in the trailer below. Perhaps a muted viewing with The Clash's own take on the film's title is in order, though even that would never match the brilliance of Elmer Bernstein's original score.
