One of Spider-Man fiercest enemies is getting his own movie

Sony Pictures has released the official teaser trailer for Venom, a movie based on the iconic Spider-Man foe.

The trailer is truly a teaser. We see scenes indicating something terrible has happened. Then we get a close up of Tom Hardy, who plays Eddie Brock/Venom.

Suddenly his face starts to grimace. And then we hear the statement “You used to be one thing...now you’re something else.” We don't get any look at Venom yet, but we do get some quick shots of the symbiote that turns Brock into the complicated villain.

Venom is scheduled to come out on October 5th. Watch the first official teaser trailer below.
