Sizzla is something of a legend in reggae music--easily Jamaica's most prolific working artist, it's been said that the fiery rasta singer and deejay is not only a genre and but also an industry unto himself. His new album The Messiah, however, stands out from a catalog that includes some of reggae's greatest albums of the dancehall era. Reggae music specialists LargeUp.com have the story--and a full stream of the album! Read what they said below and then click through to here The Messiah in its entirety.

Sizzla has a new album out today—his 70th, it’s been said—and it is easily his best in a decade or so. OK, Sizzla releases so much music we honestly can’t honestly keep up with all of it, but it’s been years since we heard new material from the man that’s really made us stop in our tracks the way his classic late ’90s/early ’00s output did.The Messiah really delivers, with tune after tune, like “No Wicked Man,” “Good Love” (which we premiered here last month) and the hip-hop flavored “Chant Dem Down.” Stream the whole thing in full right here, courtesy of VP Records, or just go ahead and buy the album here.
