Report: Jay Z Put In A Bid For Prince's Vault Recordings

Remastered Version Of Prince's Purple Rain, Plus Unreleased Music And Concert Films, Coming In June

Much of Prince's classic catalog finally returned to streaming services, but that's not all: Warner Bros. Records announced today that fans will be able to enjoy a remastered version of his magnum opus, and new music, this spring.

On June 9, Warner Bros. will release a remastered version of Prince's classic album Purple Rain, with two bonus albums of music from Prince's vault and two concert films.

The release comes after Prince's estate made a deal with Universal Music Group that allows the company to release his music. In 2015, his music was pulled from every streaming service except Tidal. But Prince's estate later sued Tidal, claiming the company didn't have exclusive rights. The new deal has Warner Bros. releasing much of his catalog, along with material from his vaults - a storied entity treasured by his fans.

Prince's music returned to Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, Google and more on Sunday, hours before the 2017 Grammy Awards roll out the red carpet. The albums on the services include Purple Rain, 1999, Dirty Mind and more.
