OKP Premiere: Louis Mattrs Glides With Grace On "Superman (BMB Spacekid Remix)"

Strutting to the sound of its own clicks and cowbells is the new BMB Spacekid remix of "Superman," the gorgeous and wistful ballad off of Louis Mattrs upcoming Slow Waves EP. Written and produced by Mattrs himself, the song's gentle "come hither" attitude gets amplified tenfold on this new rendition, which packs more synth bass and easy-swaing bravado than anyone could reasonably ask for on a calm, cool autumn morning.

BMB Spacekid is the moniker of Dmitry Semenov, who hails from St. Petersburg Russia and has graced stages alongside Hudson Mohawke, the Wu-Tang Clan and MF Doom. And while his style is entirely his own, a blend of progressive chill-trap and p-funk warbles, his run-ins with greatness have clearly rubbed off. Spacekid netted production credits on Dr. Dre's Compton cut "Animals," and has worked with the likes of Goldlink and DJ Premier as well. Those nodding along to his grade-A chop should seek out his From Russia With Love mixtape; it most definitely goes.

For his own part, Mattrs has logged a fantastic 2015, leveling up his vocals, production skills and compositional creativity at every opportunity. Now, with Slow Waves, he's poised to match wit with the likes of Lucki Eck$, Cadenza and Lauren K Faith.
